The usual questions
No, and we are not being difficult - the counter turns over every twenty minutes, so a held seat is a seat nobody is eating in. Come and put your name down.
The shoyu is chicken and the vegetable bowl is built on a mushroom and kombu broth made in a separate pot. Both are on the board every day.
The gyoza and the buns travel well. Ramen does not - the noodles keep cooking in the broth and arrive ruined, so we would rather you sat down.
Level one is warm, level three is hot, level five is a decision you make on your own. The chilli oil on the counter is free either way.
No bookings
There is usually a queue. It moves.
Twelve stools, most people are done in half an hour. Tuesday to Sunday, twelve till three and half five till ten, or until the broth runs out.
