Five stages and about three weeks.
Every piece is stamped on the foot. No two are quite the same, which is the point: the small differences are where the hands were.
Thrown
Centred and raised on the wheel, a batch of twelve at a time.
Trimmed
Left to firm up overnight, then turned and trimmed, and the handle pulled.
Bisque
A first firing to 1000°C, so the glaze has something to hold.
Glazed
Glazes mixed in the studio from raw materials, dipped by hand.
Fired
A second firing to 1260°C. The kiln decides the last ten percent.

A few commissions each season. Tell me roughly what you are after and I will say honestly whether I can make it, when, and what it will cost. Dinner sets take three months.
