Billing, Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026 · Version 1.2
This policy explains how subscriptions, payments, upgrades, cancellations, and refunds work for the Webkio Service. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions.
1. Plans & Billing Periods
Webkio offers a free plan and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed in advance for the billing period shown at checkout. The features and limits of each plan are described on our Pricing page. Your current plan, renewal date, and status are always visible in your account billing settings.
A paid plan may be offered with a free trial. Starting a trial requires a valid payment method, but you are not charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the paid subscription begins and your payment method is charged for the first billing period. Cancel at any time during the trial to avoid being charged. The free plan is always available separately and requires no payment method.
2. Payment Processing & Merchant of Record
Payments are handled by Creem, which acts as our Merchant of Record. Creem is the seller of record for your purchase and is responsible for charging your payment method and for collecting and remitting applicable sales tax or VAT. Card details are entered into Creem's secure checkout; we do not receive or store full card numbers. Your purchase is also subject to Creem's buyer terms.
3. Taxes
Prices may be shown exclusive or inclusive of tax depending on your location. Applicable VAT/sales tax is calculated and added at checkout by Creem based on your billing country.
4. Automatic Renewal
Recurring subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, using your saved payment method, until cancelled. We will charge the renewal unless you cancel before the renewal date.
5. Upgrades & Downgrades
You can change your plan at any time from your account billing settings:
- Upgrades take effect immediately. The change is prorated - you are charged the difference for the remainder of the current billing period.
- Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period - you keep the plan you paid for until then, so there is nothing to prorate. When the new plan starts, we additionally keep your previous plan's features available for a short wind-down period (currently 14 days) so nothing breaks abruptly; after that, the new plan's limits apply, and if your usage exceeds them some features may be restricted until you are within them.
6. Cancellation
You can cancel a paid subscription at any time from your billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period - you keep access to paid features until then, and you will not be charged again. After the period ends, your account reverts to the free plan. Your billing settings also let you pause a subscription instead of cancelling it. We do not provide automatic prorated refunds for the unused portion of a period that you cancel, except where required by law (see Section 8).
7. Failed Payments
If a renewal payment fails, Creem may retry it and your subscription may be marked past-due. If payment cannot be collected, your subscription may be downgraded or suspended. You can update your payment method via the billing settings.
8. Refunds
Subscriptions are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started, except:
- Statutory consumer rights: if you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you may have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Because the Service is digital content/services supplied immediately, by starting to use it you request immediate performance and acknowledge you may lose this right once the service is fully performed, to the extent permitted by law.
- Discretionary refunds: we may, at our discretion, issue a full or partial refund - for example for a clear service failure or a duplicate/accidental charge.
- Mandatory law: nothing in this policy limits refund rights you have under applicable mandatory law.
Approved refunds are issued through Creem back to your original payment method. Processing times depend on your bank or card issuer.
9. How to Request a Refund
Email [protected] from the email address on your account, with your account details and the reason for the request. We aim to respond promptly. Once approved, we issue the refund through Creem to your original payment method.
10. Chargebacks
If you have a billing concern, please contact us first - we can usually resolve it faster than a chargeback. Initiating a chargeback without contacting us may lead to suspension of your account pending resolution.
11. Price Changes
We may change plan prices. Changes do not affect the current paid period; we will give reasonable notice before a change applies to your next renewal, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
12. Contact
Billing questions: [protected].
