Moving from Squarespace
Move your Squarespace site without losing your addresses
One address in, a working Webkio site out. Your current site is not touched.
November offer: first month free
1 month free on any plan below, then the normal price. Ends 23 November.
Start with the offer - it is applied automatically.
No account, no card, nothing published. Or go straight to rebuilding it as a real site.
What comes across
- Your pages and the words on them, in the order your navigation lists them.
- Headings, body copy and any prices written as text rather than drawn into an image.
- Your logo, photographs and the colour the design is built around.
- Contact details wherever they sit on the page.
- Each page's address, including nested ones.
What does not
- Blocks that are really a hosted feature rather than text: galleries with their own viewer, scheduling, a store. The Webkio equivalents are sections you switch on.
- Anything behind a members area, including pages only a logged-in customer can open.
- Form submissions and order history already collected stay in the system that took them.
It rebuilds, it does not copy. We read your words and structure and lay
them out in Webkio's own sections, so what you see is the thing you would actually be
buying, not a screenshot of what you already have.
Your addresses are kept. A page at services/implants arrives at
services/implants. Where an address cannot be kept exactly, the page takes the nearest
one and the old address redirects to it permanently.
Up to twenty pages, followed through your own navigation in the order
your menu lists them. A big site brings its main pages, not its whole archive.
Nothing is published and nothing on your site changes. The preview sits
on a Webkio address search engines are told to ignore, and deletes itself after 72 hours
unless you make a free account to keep it.
Questions about moving from Squarespace
It arrives as the image, because that is all it is on the page. Text we can read, text we bring. It is worth checking your prices after an import for exactly this reason, and the migration checker shows you what was read as text before you start.
The posts that are linked from your navigation and fall inside the twenty-page ceiling come across as pages. A long archive does not move wholesale, and we would rather say so than let you discover it afterwards.
