Moving from WordPress
Move your WordPress site and stop maintaining it
The pages come across. The updates, the plugin list and the patching do not come with them.
November offer: first month free
1 month free on any plan below, then the normal price. Ends 23 November.
Start with the offer - it is applied automatically.
No account, no card, nothing published. Or go straight to rebuilding it as a real site.
What comes across
- Your pages, followed through your own menu, up to twenty of them.
- The text on them, your logo, your images and your brand colour.
- Your phone, email and address, wherever they appear on the page.
- The exact address of each page. A page at /services/roof-repairs arrives at /services/roof-repairs.
What does not
- Plugins and themes. They are WordPress code and only run there - which is the point of moving, because the things they were doing are built in here instead.
- A long blog archive. The twenty-page ceiling is real, and a site with two hundred posts will bring the pages your menu links, not the whole archive.
- Comments, user accounts and anything behind the login.
It rebuilds, it does not copy. We read your words and structure and lay
them out in Webkio's own sections, so what you see is the thing you would actually be
buying, not a screenshot of what you already have.
Your addresses are kept. A page at services/implants arrives at
services/implants. Where an address cannot be kept exactly, the page takes the nearest
one and the old address redirects to it permanently.
Up to twenty pages, followed through your own navigation in the order
your menu lists them. A big site brings its main pages, not its whole archive.
Nothing is published and nothing on your site changes. The preview sits
on a Webkio address search engines are told to ignore, and deletes itself after 72 hours
unless you make a free account to keep it.
Questions about moving from WordPress
The import brings up to twenty pages, chosen by following your navigation. So your main pages arrive and your archive does not. If the archive is the point of your site, this is the wrong tool for you and we would rather say that here than sell you a disappointment.
What we protect is your addresses: each page is rebuilt at the path it already has, and anything that cannot be kept exactly gets a permanent redirect, so existing links still arrive. What Google does afterwards is its decision and nobody can promise it. A move that keeps its URLs is simply not asking it to start again.
