How much does a salon website cost?
For a salon the question is really two: what does the site cost, and what does the booking app cost that you are paying for already. Most salons find the second number is the one that matters.
Prices read from the plans on every load; the judgement reviewed 8 November 2026.
The short answer
A salon website has to run on its own domain and take bookings. Priced three ways:
| Route | What you pay | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| A builder with it built in Webkio |
$30.99 a month Starter at $14.99 plus $16 as 2% on $800 of monthly sales; $371.88 a year |
The site and the features in one plan, edited by you, live the same day. Card processing is extra on every route. |
| A freelancer | from $1,158 to $2,316 as a floor 3 to 6 days at $386 a day, derived below |
Somebody's week. Then hosting, and an invoice for every change. |
| An agency | No published figure three quotes, and the questions below |
A team and a process. Right for a group with unusual needs; rarely for one location. |
The $800 a month through the site is an assumption for the table; put your own number in the calculator and the plan and fee recompute. A plan's percentage on sales is what makes the cheapest plan sometimes the dearest.
Year one, on a builder
What the first twelve months come to for a salon that builds it itself, at the assumption above.
| The plan (Starter), twelve months | $179.88 |
| The plan's 2% on $800 a month of online payments | $192 |
| Card processing | the processor's rate, on every route |
| Your domain name | from your registrar, typically a small yearly fee |
| Your time to set it up | an afternoon with the words and photos ready |
| Total of the lines with a figure | $371.88 |
Which route fits a salon
A builder, if
You book by stylist and want deposits on colour, live before Saturday, with the price list you can change yourself.
A freelancer, if
You want a very particular look and have the budget for a week of someone's time, with changes billed after.
An agency, if
You have several salons under one brand with a head office that owns the website.
The same site on other builders
Published renewal prices, with the date each was read, for the cheapest plan that covers the same needs. "Not covered" means no first-party product for it.

What moves the price for a salon
Online booking
The whole cost question for a salon is whether booking is in the site or bolted on. A separate booking app is a second subscription for as long as you trade; a site with booking built in is one.
Booking by stylist
Clients follow people. A calendar per stylist with their own hours is more work for a custom build and standard on a builder made for it.
Deposits
Taking a deposit on colour and long appointments needs a payment account connected to the booking. It costs a percentage per deposit and saves far more in no-shows.
Photos of your work
Your cuts, your colour, your nails. Free if you take them; what sells a new client; what most salon sites have least of.
The costs that are not on the quote
- The booking app you already pay for. Count it in the comparison. Many salons pay more for a booking app than they would for a whole website that includes one.
- Reminder messages. Some booking tools charge per text reminder. Email reminders are included in a plan; check before assuming.
- Card fees. On every deposit or prepaid treatment, taken by the processor, on any system.
What a salon can skip
Money commonly spent on this kind of site that does not need spending.
- A separate booking app once the site has booking in it.
- Paid text reminders: email reminders are in the plan and most clients read them.
- A logo designer before you have photos of your work; the work is the brand.
Free things worth doing first
- Write the price list as text with "from" prices where they depend on the hair; it is the page clients look for first.
- Work out what no-shows cost you a month with the no-show calculator; it is usually the whole budget for the site.
- Decide which appointments should take a deposit: colour, extensions, first visits.
If you ask an agency
Agencies do not publish prices and we will not guess one. Ask each of three what is included and what is billed after, who owns the domain and the content, what a change costs after launch, what hosting and maintenance are per year, and whether you can edit the site yourself.
Where the freelancer floor comes from. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics puts the median web developer wage at $92,650 a year (Occupational Outlook Handbook), $386 a day over 240 working days. A freelancer charges more than a salaried day, so 3 to 6 days at that rate is a floor, not an estimate.

Questions
Do I need a website if clients book on Instagram?
Instagram gets you seen; the booking still happens somewhere. A site with booking built in turns the Instagram follower into an appointment without a message exchange, and it is yours when the algorithm changes.
Is a booking app cheaper than a website with booking?
Usually not once you add the website you still need. Compare the app's subscription plus a site against one plan that does both, in the table above.
Can clients choose their stylist?
On Webkio, yes: each stylist has their own hours and services, and the client books by name or takes the first free chair.
How much should a salon spend on a website?
Less than one quiet Tuesday a month costs you. The plan that covers booking is in the table; the deposits it enables typically pay for it.
