What pages does your website need?

Pick your trade. You will get the pages and the sections that trade's websites actually have, counted across 115 templates, with the number behind every line so you can see how firm it is. Then build it - each trade opens the builder on the designs that already have those pages.

Home, contact and about are the spine of nearly every site in the library, so they open each list below in bold. What follows them is what the trade adds.

Questions about planning a site

How many pages should my business website have?
Four is the usual answer: home, contact, about, and one more that depends on what you sell. Across the 115 templates counted here the average is 4.4, with none under 3 or over 6. The pressure to add more pages usually comes from wanting to look bigger, and a visitor trying to find your phone number does not benefit from it.
What is the fourth page for my trade?
Whatever a customer has to reach before you get paid. A restaurant puts a menu there, a shop puts its products, a hire business puts the fleet, a charity puts the donate button. Pick your trade above and it is the first non-core page in the list, with the count of how many templates in that trade carry it.
Where do these recommendations come from?
They are counted at page load from the 115 website templates in this product, grouped into the 11 trades they were designed for. They describe a design library rather than a survey of real businesses' live sites, so treat them as what a site for your trade tends to need. The count beside each line is there so you can judge it yourself: 13 of 14 is firm, 2 of 8 is a hint.
Do I have to use a Webkio template to use this?
No. This is a planning tool and the list works anywhere - take it to whatever you build on. The template links are there because starting from one that already has the right pages saves an afternoon, not because the plan depends on it.

Build it from a template that already fits

Every template counted on this page is one you can open and edit. The pages above are already in it, and so are the sections.
