Portfolio and personal brand website examples

A portfolio is a sales page that pretends not to be one. The visitor wants to see the work, decide in a minute whether you are the right person, and know how to hire you. The designs here, for photographers, designers, interior designers, coaches and creators, show the work large and fast, keep the words short, and make the next step obvious.

6 designs below, and the six things every good portfolio website has. Designs and listed sites read live; the judgement reviewed 8 November 2026.

What a good portfolio website has

The things the examples below have in common, and the reason each one is there.

1

The work first, and large

The first screen is a piece of work, not a headline about passion. Big, fast-loading images, each with what it was and for whom.

2

Case studies, not just pictures

For designers and consultants, three or four projects told as problem, work, result. It is what a client reads before the call.

3

One way to hire you

A contact form or a booking link, present on every page. A portfolio with no clear next step is a gallery.

4

A face and a paragraph

Who you are, where you are, what you do and for whom, in your own voice. Personal brands are bought from a person.

5

Images sized for the web

Thirty full-size camera files make a slow site that loses the visitor before the first one appears. Resize before upload; the image resizer tool does it.

6

Selected, not everything

Twelve strong pieces beat sixty. Choose what you want more of, and show only that.

What goes wrong

  • A splash page or intro animation between the visitor and the work.
  • Every image at full resolution, so the page takes ten seconds on a phone.
  • No prices, no process, no way to start - just "get in touch".

Each one opens as a live preview. The words, photos and colours are yours to change; the working parts stay.

A designer's portfolio as a poster: the wall of work full-bleed, an edge-to-edge mosaic with one solid colour tile in it, prices on ink, and a two-day reply promise.

Photography Studio

A photographer's site in the dark: a full-bleed portrait, an edge-to-edge mosaic, every frame numbered like a contact sheet, three packages priced, a date check as the ask.

Personal Brand template

Personal Brand

A personal site as a name plate: a portrait on an orange field beside the name, one statement, selected work as an index, a note as the ask.

Link in Bio template

Link in Bio

A single tap-through page for a profile link: an arched portrait, the one line, four links with thumbnails, commissions as the ask.

Interior Designer template

Interior Designer

Interior design studio: finished rooms as magazine spreads with spec lines, three fixed-fee bands, a home visit as the ask.

Studio Noir template

Studio Noir

A dark, editorial agency site with parallax bands and oversized type.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a website if I have Instagram?

Instagram shows the work in someone else's order, to people it decides. A portfolio site is yours, found by search, and the place a client goes to check you are real. The guide covers when it matters.

How many pieces should a portfolio show?

Enough to prove the range you want hired for and no more; usually eight to fifteen. Curate, and keep the rest for the meeting.

Can clients book a call from the site?

Yes. A booking page with your availability, or a short enquiry form, is part of every design here.

Will large photos slow the site down?

Yes, if uploaded at full size. Resize to the width the page uses before uploading; the free image resizer does it in the browser.
