Billing & payment

3 min read Updated Jul 31, 2026

Everything about your subscription - what you are on, when you are charged, and how to change or stop it - lives in one place.

Where to find it

Open Settings from the account menu, then the Billing section (/settings#billing).

What the status means

Status What it means
Active Your subscription is running and will renew on the date shown.
Trial You are inside the free trial. It becomes a paid subscription when the trial ends unless you cancel first.
Past due A payment failed. Your plan still works for now, but fix the card soon - see below.
Paused You stopped billing temporarily. Paid features are unavailable until you resume.
Canceled Billing has stopped. You keep paid features until the date shown, then move to the Free plan.

Under the status you will see whichever of these applies: Renews (next charge), Billed (what you pay), Access ends (after cancelling), Changes to (a scheduled downgrade), Pauses, or Resumes automatically.

What you can do

Action What happens
Manage billing Opens the payment provider's secure portal, where you update your card, change billing details and download invoices and receipts.
Switch to yearly Moves you to annual billing. You are charged the prorated difference straight away.
Cancel subscription Stops future billing. You keep everything you are paying for until the end of the period already paid.
Pause my plan Offered when you go to cancel. Billing stops and paid features switch off, but your sites and data stay exactly as they are, ready for when you come back.
Resume subscription / Keep current plan / Resume now Undoes a scheduled cancellation, downgrade or pause, as long as the date has not passed.

Invoices and receipts

Invoices, receipts and your card are held by the payment provider (Creem), not by Webkio - which is why Manage billing opens their portal rather than a page here. Everything you need for accounting is in there, including past invoices you can download as PDFs.

If a payment fails

The subscription moves to Past due and the provider retries automatically over the following days. Nothing is deleted while that happens. Open Manage billing and update the card - the usual causes are an expired card, a new card number, or a bank declining a recurring charge it does not recognise. If every retry fails the subscription ends and the account moves to the Free plan; your sites stay, but features above the Free allowance stop working until you subscribe again.

Cancelling

Cancelling is self-serve and takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for - you are not cut off mid-month, and there is nothing to email anyone about. Before it completes you are offered Pause my plan instead, which keeps everything intact without billing you.

Nothing you have built is deleted when a subscription ends. Sites, pages, products, bookings and contacts all remain; what changes is which features you can use. See What each plan includes.
