Write & publish posts
Write posts in Blog > Posts, then New Blog Post.
The fields
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Title | The headline, and the strongest signal of what the post is about. |
| Slug | The post's web address. Set from the title; change it before publishing, not after. |
| Content | The post itself. |
| Category | Which group it belongs to. |
| Tags | Finer labels. A post has one category and any number of tags. |
| Featured Image | The image shown in listings and at the top of the post. |
| OG Image | The image used when the post is shared on social media. Falls back to the featured image. |
| Featured Post | Marks it for sections that show a featured post. |
| Allow Comments | Whether readers can comment on this post. |
SEO
SEO title and SEO description control how the post appears in search results - the blue clickable line and the grey summary. Leave them empty and the title and opening text are used.
Write the description as an advert for the click, not a summary. It does not affect ranking; it affects whether anyone chooses your result over the four around it.
Publishing
Status is Draft or Published. Set a Publish Date in the future and the post is scheduled - it goes live on its own at that time.
Preview Link shows you the post as a reader will see it, before it is live.
Images
Image Library holds what you have already uploaded, so the same photo is not uploaded five times. Give images descriptive names before uploading - it helps you find them later and helps search engines understand them.
AI help
AI Generate drafts a post for you, and AI Suggest proposes improvements.
Treat the output as a first draft by a keen assistant who has never met your customers. It gets the structure right and the specifics wrong. The parts worth reading - your prices, your process, the thing you learned doing this for ten years - are the parts only you can add.
AI use counts against your plan's monthly allowance - see What each plan includes.
Good to know
- Changing the slug of a published post breaks existing links to it, including from Google.
- A scheduled post publishes itself. You do not need to be logged in at the time.
