Plans & upgrading

3 min read Updated Jul 31, 2026

Your plan decides which features you can use and how much of each. You can change it yourself at any time, and the change takes effect according to simple rules.

Where to find it

Settings > Billing (/settings#billing) shows your Active plan and the options to change it.

What each plan includes

Allowances change as plans evolve, so they live in one always-current place rather than being repeated here: What each plan includes lists every feature and limit for every plan, generated from the live configuration.

Upgrading

Upgrading applies immediately. You are charged the prorated difference for the rest of the current period, and the features unlock straight away - no waiting for the next billing date.

Upgrade when you hit a limit, and the panel that blocked you will name which limit it was and which plan lifts it.

Downgrading

Downgrading is scheduled rather than immediate: you keep your current plan until the end of the billing period you have paid for, then move down. Until that date the status shows Changes to <plan> on <date>, and Keep current plan cancels the change.

Before downgrading, check what you are using against the lower plan's allowances. Nothing is deleted when you go over a limit - existing sites, products and contacts stay - but you will not be able to add more of whatever you now exceed, and gated features stop working until you upgrade again.

Trials

The trial is a full paid plan for a fixed number of days. A card is required to start it, and it converts to a paid subscription automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel first. Cancel during the trial and it ends immediately, moving the account to the Free plan - so cancel on the last day rather than the first if you want the remaining days.

One trial is available per plan per account, so starting a second trial of the same plan is not possible.

Switching to yearly

Switch to yearly moves you from monthly to annual billing and charges the prorated difference straight away. Annual billing is cheaper per month - the saving is shown on the pricing page.

Common questions

  • Do I lose my site if I go back to Free? No. Sites, pages and content stay. Features above the Free allowance stop working, and the Webkio badge returns to published sites.
  • Can I change plans mid-month? Yes. Upgrades apply now, downgrades at the period end.
  • Where are my invoices? In the payment provider's portal, via Manage billing - see Billing & payment.
