Team members

3 min read Updated Aug 1, 2026

Invite other people into your account and decide exactly what each of them can reach - a designer who only touches the site, a shop manager who never sees analytics, an accountant who only reads orders.

Where to find it

Team in the account menu. Only the account owner can open it.

Invite someone

  1. Open Team and invite the person by email address.
  2. Set what they can do (below).
  3. They get an email invitation. Until they accept, they show as invited.

If the invitation does not arrive, resend it from the same page - the button is on their row.

How access works

Access is two separate things, and both apply at once.

1. What they can do, per area

Each area is set to one of three levels:

Level What it means
No access The area is hidden. They cannot see it in the navigation or reach it by typing the address.
Viewer They can look but not change. Buttons that would edit are disabled.
Editor They can view and change everything in that area.

The areas you can grant are: Site builder, Blog, CMS, Shop, Rentals, Menu, Bookings, Payments, Coupons, Orders, Contacts (CRM), Contact messages, Subscribers, Visitors, Analytics and Integrations.

2. Which projects they can touch

Separately, a member gets either all projects in the account or only a selected list. Someone set to Editor on the Shop but limited to one project can only manage that project's shop.

The two combine: a member needs both the area level and the project to reach anything.

What only the owner can do

Some things are never grantable, and do not appear in the area list at all:

  • Billing, plans and payment details
  • The Team page itself - inviting, changing or removing members
  • Account settings
  • Creating and deleting projects

If a team member needs one of those done, the owner has to do it.

Managing members

Action What happens
Change access Takes effect immediately - no need for them to log out and back in.
Suspend Blocks their access while keeping the member and their settings, ready to restore.
Remove Deletes the membership. Work they did stays in the account; only their access goes.
Resend invite Sends the invitation email again to someone still showing as invited.

Good to know

  • Team members start on Growth Business. Free and Starter are single-operator plans with no seats, so the Team page shows an upgrade panel. The seat count for each paid plan is listed in What each plan includes.
  • Suspending the owner's account suspends the team. Members cannot work in an account that is itself suspended.
  • Give the narrowest access that works. Someone who only writes posts needs Blog at Editor and nothing else - not Site builder.
