The builder AI assistant

3 min read Updated Jul 31, 2026

The builder has an AI assistant that edits your page for you - describe a change in plain language and it makes it.

Where to find it

In the builder, the AI Assistant tab in the right-hand panel.

What it can do

Ask for a change and it will carry it out on the page you are editing:

Ask for Example
A new section "add a testimonials section"
Rewritten content "make the heading shorter and punchier"
Styling "make the buttons green"
Moving things "move the contact form above the map"
Duplicating or deleting "duplicate this pricing card"
Images "use a different photo here"
Theme changes "use a warmer colour scheme"
Page settings "set the meta description for this page"
Links "link this button to the contact page"
Device visibility "hide this section on mobile"

It tells you what it changed, and says so plainly when it could not find what you meant.

What it will not do

  • Delete the global header or footer. They are shared by every page - see Header, footer & global blocks.
  • Work across pages. It edits the page you are on.
  • Publish. Its changes are drafts like any other, until you press Publish.

Rewriting text in place

Select text on the canvas and choose a rewrite:

  • Improve writing
  • Fix spelling & grammar
  • Make it shorter / Make it longer
  • Professional tone / Friendly tone / Persuasive tone

This is the faster tool for wording. Use the chat for structure, the rewrite menu for sentences.

Getting better results

  • Be specific. "A three-column features section with icons" beats "add some features".
  • One change at a time. A single instruction is applied accurately; five at once are applied approximately.
  • Say where. "In the hero" or "the section above the footer" removes the guesswork.
  • Undo is right there. If a change is wrong, undo it and rephrase rather than asking it to correct itself.

It writes drafts, not final copy

The assistant has never met your customers. It gets structure right and specifics wrong, and it will happily invent a plausible-sounding claim about your business. Read everything it writes before you publish it - particularly prices, promises and anything a customer could hold you to.

Monthly limits

AI requests are metered per month and the allowance depends on your plan - see What each plan includes. Your remaining requests are shown with your other plan limits in account settings.

If the assistant stops responding, check that first. It is almost always the month's allowance rather than a fault. The allowance resets monthly, and upgrading raises it immediately.

Asking the help assistant a question does not use this allowance - it is a separate thing.
