Business details & local SEO
Your business details - address, phone, hours - are entered once and used everywhere: on the page, in your site's search-engine data, and as the starting point for appointment availability.
Where to find it
Settings > Business Info.
What to fill in
| Field | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Street address, City, Region / State, Postal code, Country | Your location, used by contact and map sections and by local search. |
| Phone | Tapped directly on a phone. Include the country code if you serve people abroad. |
| Where enquiries should go. | |
| Business type (for SEO) | Tells search engines what kind of business you are - restaurant, salon, shop. This is what qualifies you for local-business results rather than a plain web page. |
| Google Place ID | Links your Google listing so reviews can be shown. |
| Business hours | Your single source of truth for opening hours. |
Hours do two jobs
The hours you set here are:
- what the Opening Hours section shows on your site, and
- the default availability for appointments, if you take bookings.
So a Sunday closure entered here closes Sunday on the page and stops Sunday appointments. Booking hours can still be overridden separately - see Availability & hours.
Local SEO
Search engines reward consistency. The name, address and phone number here should match your Google listing, your social profiles and your directory entries character for character - "St" in one place and "Street" in another is a real, if petty, cause of weaker local ranking.
Getting this right is what makes you eligible to appear in map results and the local pack, which for a business with a physical location is usually worth more than every other SEO effort combined.
Good to know
- Fill this in before you publish. Sections that show your address or hours read from here; leave it empty and they show placeholder text on a live site.
- Update hours here, not on the page. Editing the text of an Opening Hours section by hand puts your site and your bookings out of step.
