Header, footer & global blocks
Your site has one header and one footer, shared by every page. Edit either one and every page changes - that is the point, and it is also the surprise.
How it works
A page is assembled from three parts:
- the global header at the top,
- the page's own content in the middle,
- the global footer at the bottom.
Only the middle belongs to the page. The header and footer are stored once for the whole site, so a change to them appears everywhere immediately - there is no per-page republishing to do.
Why you cannot drop sections into them
Dragging a section onto the header or footer will refuse. Content sections live in the page body only. Edit the header and footer in place instead - click the logo, the menu, a footer link, and change it from the Properties panel.
What belongs where

Legal links
Terms and privacy links are added to the footer for you once those pages exist - see Settings > Terms & Privacy pages. You do not need to link them by hand.
Reusable blocks are the other kind of shared
The header and footer are shared automatically. For anything else you want on several pages - a testimonial strip, a call to action - use a reusable block, which is shared because you asked it to be. See Reusable blocks.
Good to know
- "I changed one page and they all changed" almost always means you edited the header or footer. That is expected.
- Keep the header short. It is on every page and on every phone screen; it is the most expensive space on your site.
