Seasonal prices & minimum stay

3 min read Updated Jul 31, 2026

Charge more when demand is high, less when it is not, and require a longer booking in peak periods.

Everything here is optional. With no seasons set, every day uses the item's own daily price and the only minimum is the one on the item itself.

Add a season

Settings > Rentals > Seasonal rates > Add a season. Each row is one period:

Field What it does
Name Yours to recognise - High season, Christmas week. It is not shown to customers.
From / To The dates it covers, inclusive.
Price/day The daily price for those dates, replacing the item's own.
Min stay Fewest days that may be booked when the rental starts in this season. Leave blank to keep the item's own minimum.
Priority Which season wins when two cover the same day - the higher number.

Each row saves on its own, with its own tick button. If a date range is refused, the message under the row is the reason.

Which price applies

Rates are worked out per day, not per booking, so a stay that crosses from one season into another is charged partly at each. A week spanning the end of high season costs exactly what those seven days are worth.

When more than one season covers a day, the most specific wins:

  1. A season set on that particular item beats a site-wide one.
  2. Between two of the same kind, the higher priority wins.
  3. Still tied: the season defined most recently.
  4. No season covers the day: the item's own daily price.

That is what priority is for. Set Summer over June to September, then August bank holiday at a higher priority over those three days, and the holiday rate wins for exactly those dates.

Minimum stay

A minimum stay is read from the season the booking starts in, and it applies to the whole booking. A three-night minimum from Friday does not become two because the stay ends after the season does.

If a season has no minimum, the item's own applies. Setting a season minimum to 0 is not the same as leaving it blank - blank means "use the item's", which is usually what you want.

Customers are told before they choose, not after they pay: a stay shorter than the minimum is simply not offered for those dates.

Days, not nights

A booking of N days is charged for N days beginning at the pick-up or check-in date. The return day is not charged. Friday to Monday is three days - which is also three nights, which is why holiday rentals can call them nights without the arithmetic changing.

The prices your customers see

The search results, the quote and the confirmation email all read the same seasonal rates, so the price advertised on your site is the price charged. If a customer reports a different number, it is worth checking whether they were looking at a date range that crosses a season boundary.
